Meet Katherine Y. Jones | Podcaster/TV Show Host/Business Coach/Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katherine Y. Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katherine Y., is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Who made the rules that you are afraid to break? This is a quote I created because fear stops so many in their tracks. This helps put that fear in perspective. It is only there as a sign, but not a stop sign. Fear is a mere indicator of the unknown. Don’t let it stop what you are trying to achieve for the good.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I began as an online radio host using BlogTalkRadio to build a network of show hosts. We moved to TV after a few years of working together. What sets me apart is my ability to create an opportunity that I will also seize the benefits of as well. Right now I am most proud of my debut novel, Moments The Weekend. I believe the start of my business 15 years ago helped boost my confidence for this moment. Writing a book has been my ultimate dream and it has come true with future moments to realize. It has not been easy preparing for this. I have helped others in many capacities before I asked for anything for myself. I follow the principles of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. While I helped others I learned about business and the business of intellectual property. I learned how to respect other people’s intellectual property and how to keep my own protected. There were financial challenges that caused me to rethink my living arrangements. Being open to alternatives to living comfortably in a traditional way. Making time for family was the easiest part and the most rewarding part of choosing to create a business from thoughts alone. Much of my business years have been filled with learning on the go. I learned as I went what the business world is all about. Keeping emotion out of any exchange. Loads of emotion go into my writing and I don’t think I could have taken criticism over my writing back then. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that you will feel at home after just one turn of the page or conversation.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Napolean Hill was the first book I read 15 years ago before starting my business. This book has been kept close by over the years to refer to its principles. Support for others in business is a list of names too long to mention without risking leaving someone off. The business community has been supportive, even when I felt it wasn’t. Things and people have been available to me as I have needed them for growth then gone away once their job was complete with me in that season. My family support over the years has been key. Shout out to my husband for allowing me the space to express myself in the business arena. It takes a lot to be a wife, mother, and business owner. I appreciate my family for sharing me.
