We had the good fortune of connecting with Katelyn Osborne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katelyn, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Habits come with setting a solid routine. With that being said, I like to start off my day with early mornings having a healthy breakfast while reviewing emails and responding to clients to identify what is time sensitive. My clients deserve timely follow ups. Another habit I live by is taking mental breaks to keep the energy levels high and to refresh on creative thoughts. Until I allowed myself breaks in the middle of tasks and heavier projects, there were times I’d have creative blocks. Going outdoors or getting inspiration in different outlets has been a staple to my success day to day and overall as I enjoy Centerpiece Marketing’s fourth year in business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work in the marketing, advertising, and PR space. Centerpiece Marketing provides services for businesses to promote their products and services and highlight their signature brands in the best ways. A major lesson I’ve learned is to take things day by day and not get too caught up in the moment. As they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” It took months and months to get to where I am today business-wise. I set yearly, monthly, and weekly goals and make checklists prioritizing projects. I would prefer the world to take a look at my work and see how Centerpiece Marketing is helping American businesses grow and develop their brand identities. I want the world to hear and see the passion I personally have for each account to be recognized.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend Rachel from North Carolina visited me in West Palm Beach in early November. We had an absolutely great time as I was able to show her my favorite places in the area. Once I picked her up from the airport, we went straight to SurfSide Diner in Palm Beach for breakfast. We attended the Norton Museum’s Friday night Art After Dark jazz music event and were lucky to see the incredible exhibits of Monet and Van Gogh. Friday nights at the Norton don’t disappoint. We really enjoyed walking the beach and exploring lush sculpture gardens of The Society of the Four Arts. We had great meals at Bradley’s downtown overlooking the intercoastal waterway and also went to a local Thai restaurant for curry and Mexican food at Torero’s was a hit at lunch. We drove down to Lake Worth for NAMI’s walk for mental health. My client Integrity Billing was a large contributor to this event. It was great to see the team, participate, and get some content for social media posts from that event. There is always something fun to do and gorgeous places to see and you only need to check out happenings online, check a church bulletin, or network to feel great in the community.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My first years as a business owner were spent feeling inspired by other local business owners but also traveling beyond the familiar. I traveled several times down to Florida and explored. Each visit I considered several different accounts I wished to work with. I began reading more and two books that really stood out to me were Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own and Emily Ratajkowski’s My Body. I am really impressed with all the successes Emily (Emrata) has had. She started with a teenage dream of being a model and now she’s not just modeling for some of the biggest brands around, but she has her own bikini line and her book titled My Body was an instant New York Times Bestseller. I also tune into her podcast weekly to hear her speak with other young successful women navigating work/life balance, health, and everything else. The women that inspire me in podcasts are the ones that keep their overheads low in business and highlight their work seamlessly through journaling and social media. I think that I am most encouraged by the women that fearlessly speak their mind, are proud of their life decisions, and embrace womanhood and motherhood in ways others haven’t been able to.
