Hi Karisma, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting Karisma Kennedy Solutions stemmed from a deep-seated passion for administration and a genuine desire to help people. As someone who thrives on supporting others and enabling them to focus on their core strengths, I recognized the opportunity to serve as a solutionist for businesses and brands. This calling was further nurtured during my role as an assistant to my local church pastor, where I honed my gift for organization and support. It became clear to me that the skills and insight I gained in that setting could be leveraged to assist individuals and organizations beyond the church community.

I firmly believe I am called to the marketplace and the kingdom, where I can apply my talents to help others bring their visions to fruition. I’ve observed that everyone can benefit from a fresh perspective and collaborative support when striving to manifest their ideas. By providing a guiding hand and an additional set of eyes, I aim to reduce the burdens associated with creating something new. Collaboration is key, as it alleviates the stress of navigating the path to success alone. Ultimately, my goal with Karisma Kennedy Solutions is to empower individuals and businesses to thrive by offering comprehensive consulting services and personalized virtual assistance.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In May 2023, I made the bold decision to leave my corporate job and fully commit to building Karisma Kennedy Solutions. This pivotal step was driven by a profound belief not only in my own abilities but also in the potential of the businesses and individuals that I would have the privilege to work with. It was a leap of faith, guided by a deep conviction that my passion for administration and my dedication to helping others achieve their goals could be best realized through the establishment of my own consulting firm.

This transition was not without its challenges, but it was a defining moment that allowed me to fully immerse myself in the pursuit of my vision. It required unwavering determination, a willingness to embrace uncertainty, and a steadfast commitment to the values that define Karisma Kennedy Solutions. The decision to pursue my business full-time has been both empowering and transformative, and it has allowed me to wholeheartedly dedicate myself to serving my clients with unparalleled dedication and enthusiasm.

This leap of faith has reinforced my belief in the impact that Karisma Kennedy Solutions can make in the lives of those we serve, and it has solidified our commitment to providing exceptional support and guidance to our clients. I am immensely proud of the journey that has led me to this point, and I am excited about the future as we continue to empower individuals and businesses to thrive and succeed. My goal is to establish one of the leading consulting firms in Charlotte, NC, specializing in serving Fortune 500 companies. I often joke with my friends that I envision my firm as the consulting equivalent of the show “Suits,” but with a strong emphasis on integrity and honesty in our business dealings. While “Suits” was quite dramatic, I aspire to attract the same high-caliber clients for KKS, and I truly believe it’s possible.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate a special shoutout to a few people in my life. I must say these two are not the only ones that contributed to where I am but have been a building block to help me navigate this place.

First, my husband, Rashon, has been one of the most consistent and unwavering sources of support and encouragement in my life. From the very beginning, he has been a steadfast believer in me, always standing by my side whenever I’ve embarked on new endeavors. His unwavering support, investment, and encouragement have been a driving force behind my ambitions. Regardless of the outcomes, he has resolutely believed in my ideas, thought processes, and goals.

There have been numerous occasions when I’ve struggled with self-doubt, and during those times, he has been my pillar of strength, offering tough love and encouragement to help me realize my full potential. His guidance has been invaluable in keeping me grounded and focused, especially as my passion for helping others sometimes leads me to overextend myself. One valuable lesson he has imparted to me is this analogy, the importance of considering the width of the football field, not just its length. He has emphasized that constantly striving for long distances may not always be the most beneficial approach. Instead, there are instances where a strategic play runs right across from you, and taking smaller steps to advance to the ten-yard line can ultimately lead to scoring a touchdown. I carry this strategic perspective with me in every aspect of my life, and it serves as a grounding principle, reminding me to remain patient and focused on making meaningful progress.

His influence has been profound, and I am deeply grateful for his unwavering support, guidance, and love.

Also, I would like to take a moment to honor and express my deep appreciation for my mentor, Dana Blue, whose invaluable guidance has profoundly impacted not only my spiritual journey but also my development as a leader in the marketplace. When I reflect on how she has influenced my approach to leadership, two fundamental principles consistently stand out: the importance of seeking God’s presence in every endeavor and the significance of maintaining a genuine heart posture.

Dana Blue has consistently encouraged me to consider where God stands in the midst of my pursuits and to evaluate whether my actions align with His will. This perspective has challenged the conventional notion of success, which often revolves around worldly achievements and material gains. Instead, I’ve learned to recognize that true success is not solely measured by human standards, but by God’s divine measure of success.

Furthermore, her emphasis on the significance of heart posture has been transformative. She has highlighted the necessity of evaluating my motives and intentions, cautioning against pursuing goals to gain validation from others or to simply align with external expectations. Instead, I’ve learned to center my focus on discerning God’s will and aligning my heart with purity and authenticity in all my endeavors. This approach has not only refined my decision-making process but has also instilled in me a sense of clarity, enabling me to pursue my goals with integrity and long-term sustainability.

Dana Blue’s mentorship has undoubtedly made me a better leader, equipping me with a clear perspective that allows me to approach every aspect of my life and leadership journey with a profound sense of purpose and authenticity. I am immensely grateful for her wisdom and guidance, which continue to shape and inspire me on my spiritual and professional path.
