We had the good fortune of connecting with Ka’Miyah McNair and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ka’Miyah, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk requires you to step outside of your comfort zone. In that there’s a lot of what ifs of course. What if I fail. What if I don’t thrive financially. What if I don’t get the support. However I feel like if you don’t ever take that leap of faith and put yourself out there when will you? It’s never gonna be the perfect time you just have to do it and believe in yourself even when no one else will.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a self taught home based baker. I specialize in southern treats with a twist and custom cakes. What sets me apart from others is that I am a baker and I do not follow recipes or use measurements. I am most excited about becoming a full time business owner and having the honor of my talent being my main source of income!This has not been an easy task but it’s such a rewarding task.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown has come back alive in my city and it is surrounded by small businesses. The vibe is amazing and anyone visiting should check out downtown Rocky Mount,NC.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my mother. She has been my backbone through out this journey.
