We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Vargas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The success of my brand I would said that it has to be uniqueness. There are many amazing artists there. I love to create my art for each person that they feel a better version of themselves but with a touch of how I think it would look the best for them. And I believe every artist had to make their own signature.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been loving creating hairstyles since I was very young.I remember to use my cousins hair to practice even “haircuts”. I don’t know anything else if is not art. I love to sing, paint, craft, cook you name it, but I can’t see my self in other field that it doesn’t have the arts involved. It was easy? No, it wasn’t, and still it isn’t. I came almost 10 years ago to North Carolina and I love this state I immediately felt comfortable as it have some similarly things to do as in Puerto Rico. But it was hard to get started as a business owner without knowing just some of your family. I still don’t know how people got to know me and know my work but it was amazing how I turn out to be a Multicultural Makeup artist. At first I tough that because I speak Spanish I will have more Hispanics Bridals but it was actually the opposite. I start with Middle Eastern Brides and then South Asian community and slowly North American community now I can said that also Asian community and some Hispanics. But I am so happy that I can get to know each culture and I feel blessed that I am welcome in each and one of them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Actually she come every year and we always take a trip to the mountains. I can’t said anything bad about it because I LOVE NC mountains and the foliage. We always go when is winter and is about to snow but I wish she can come in fall season that is my favorite of all. I went with a friend of mine last weekend to Ashville and we picked up some apples, drink a frozen apple cider for the first time in my life and try apples cider donuts and I Loved it! I would definitely go back again. I took my BFF to my favorite NC BBQ place ” Peddling Pig” when she came last time. And we went to do some Ski and Snow boarding in Highlands Mountains and it was an amazing experience. I just can’t get enough of the beautiful views of NC. But near my house is the Cape Fear River in Lillington, were you can do many activities and also the Ravens Rock State Park that is beautiful as well. Is a 3 minutes drive from my house and because she always come in winter I never had the chance to take her there. Hopefully she can come in spring for strawberries pickup at the farms near my home or in fall like I said for apples.
