Hi Jerm, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
This evolving streetwear & creative merchandise brand I devote present-day time to (developed as “Dweeb Kil.” – @dweebkil) envisions a distinct creative performance that allows my own sense of artistry to unfold: Within & outside of the everyday “professional setting”. This street-woven collection of imaginative assortments is the direct culmination of artwork I thought to showcase on display + an endearment I wished to extend to a less “business-savvy” crowd rapidly, with potential successes abound. I operate throughout the East Coast as of now (in spots across North Carolina, Georgia, & Florida); in order to breach a pronounced visibility for the creative business manuevers I conduct! This thought process allows me to fulfill lucrative goals while gaining enough recognition to showcase my artistic ability through a set of tangible products/services I regard as satisfactory. I not only meet deadlines & demand for a new source of entertainment: I thoroughly enjoy acting from a position of independence made to construct a working splendor that’s interactive + my own creation to adjust & seek change all around!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Dweeb Kil. (as a creative endeavor) is made to house my artwork/illustrations, streetwear I can screenprint & fashion into existence, & the catalog of revolving creative collectibles I’ve made to purchase at various vending markets and community-style events enthusiastically. My care towards environmentally conscious efforts is made to breach environmental awareness with a new line of inventory created season by season. For example, 2023’s pronounced change & rise of warming climates helped me to start showcasing 1) safe-to-use reusable water bottles for hikers or bikers, beach & citygoers, & exercise fanatics alike! 2) My own “Dog Pendant Necklaces” I sell outline a distinct need to mind the rising sea levels here on Earth, while enlivening my target audience to represent “recycling invested sentiments” I’ve thought to incentivize in a stylish fashion! I gather better reserves of excitement to see that these tokens of my creation actually resonate with everyday folks + assures that newly conjured items could garner a timely treat for patrons willing to indulge on what Dweeb Kil. has to offer (such as the new “Halloween Treat” Monster Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies I’ve incorporated into my display stands during the month of October in 2023)!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Apart from sightseeing, I usually have a desire to stay in tact with the sounds of the ocean or riverside currents that could crash against my eardrums in serenity. Those moments in time during the day I internalize. Anywhere by the beach on a nice day, to a quiet sit down at a local coffee shop/floral nursery (Native Fresh, The Greenhouse Jax here in Florida, Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens) fosters a better outlook for me (personally) to achieve or even just relax for a conscious breathing session. As a freelancing graphic design artist, I tend to visit clients in easy-to-reach areas (parks, museums, art galleries). I love to conduct chats & creative exclamations through these neat processes made to grow alongside prospects & visions I’ve drawn out. I totally cherish the aquatic-friendly influence & waves of currents that seem to captivate & inspire me to keep on rolling through as I can. It’s been a pleasant trip so far : ) I encourage anybody to listen to the sounds that nature usually likes to streamline with an organic presence: Upon the ears made to hear, but no one thinks to stop & pay mind to actively.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A string of success I find to be more recognizable within my current creative operation could be found within the direct influence(s) I’ve retained since my own childhood: dedicated to various forms of media-related entertainment (cartoons, movies, short films/documentaries, advertisements, interviews, characters in books, poetic authors, etc.). I’d like to give a huge thanks to the efforts of precious illustrators/storyboarded animation studios that paved the way for an uptick in my own driven nature to create or express. This boils down to Jill Thompson (“Scary Godmother”), Maxwell Atoms (“The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy”), Charles Addams (“The Addams Family”), Genndy Tartakovsky (“Samurai Jack”, “Unicorn: Warriors Eternal”), Craig McCracken (“Powerpuff Girls”, “Wander Over Yonder”), and even Hanna Barbera productions like “Scooby Doo” or “Jonny Quest”! Animated phenomena such as “The Life and Times of Juniper Lee” (as a valuable example) definitely resonate + rejuvenate this immediate understanding of devotion, coupled with crafty innovation made to “Wow!” the crowds I inhabit. It’s thanks to the unforgettable impact of these kinds of T.V. shows that initially fostered more encouragement to pursue a venture worthwhile in presence, as a spectacle to be in the midst of authentically.
