We had the good fortune of connecting with Jequetta Zeigler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jequetta, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
This year, Above New Medians launched Scriptcraft Academy. Scriptcraft Academy was born out of a deep-seated passion for storytelling and a profound belief in the untapped potential of aspiring creatives. My journey in the entertainment industry exposed me to a multitude of talented individuals who, despite their remarkable skills and creativity, often struggled to find a clear path towards success. This realization was the catalyst for Scriptcraft Academy.
The ‘How’ Behind Scriptcraft Academy:
The ‘how’ was a combination of factors. First, I brought together a team of industry professionals who shared my vision. We understood that the media and entertainment industry can be daunting for newcomers, filled with complexities and uncharted territory. So, we meticulously designed a curriculum that not only imparts the art of scriptwriting but also equips students with the tools to navigate the industry confidently.
Our instructors are not just teachers but mentors, individuals who have walked the same path and succeeded in a fiercely competitive industry. Their insights, wisdom, and experiences are invaluable resources for our students.
We embraced technology and a flexible learning approach, making the program accessible to a global audience. Our online platform ensures that geography is no longer a barrier to pursuing one’s dreams in the entertainment world. We also offer a combination of live webinars, interactive discussions, and on-demand content, providing students with a personalized learning experience.
The ‘Why’ Behind Scriptcraft Academy:
Now, let’s talk about the ‘why.’ It’s essential to understand that our mission extends beyond mere education. Scriptcraft Academy was created to empower individuals to harness their creative potential and turn it into a fulfilling, sustainable career. The ‘why’ is all about nurturing the storytellers of the future, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and industry insights necessary to succeed in an ever-evolving entertainment landscape.
Our ‘why’ is driven by the belief that every creative mind has a unique story to tell, and it deserves to be heard. The entertainment industry is richer and more diverse when it includes voices from all walks of life, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our academy is committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and the democratization of opportunities in media and entertainment.
The ultimate ‘why’ behind Scriptcraft Academy is to see our students confidently pitch their scripts, secure deals with major studios, and make their creative dreams a reality. We’re not just shaping writers; we’re empowering future directors, producers, and influential voices in the industry.
In a world hungry for compelling narratives, we’re providing the tools and knowledge for creative minds to rise and shine. The ‘why’ is to light the path for those with dreams of telling their stories on the big screen, the small screen, or any screen.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In a world of media and entertainment, I take pride in my unique blend of talents as a writer, director, and producer.
As a writer, I infuse life into words, crafting narratives that resonate deeply with audiences. My characters and plots are not just lines on paper; they’re portals to new worlds, a journey that invites viewers to embark on unforgettable adventures.
In the director’s chair, my vision comes to life on screen. I breathe soul into each frame, blending innovation with tradition, creating a visual masterpiece that captivates and pushes boundaries.
But I don’t stop at directing. As a producer, I’m the force behind the scenes that brings it all together. My relentless commitment to quality, innovation, and execution ensures that every project shines brightly in the industry.
What truly sets me apart is my ability to seamlessly merge these roles. Wearing multiple hats ensures my creative vision remains intact from concept to realization, making me a standout force in the industry. I’m not just a writer, director, or producer – I’m a creative visionary redefining media and entertainment, and I’m excited to share my unique talents with the world.

Faith has played a significant role in my life, and I’d like to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to God for the success of my life and business. My faith has been a guiding force in my life and business endeavors. It’s not just about asking for blessings but also about acknowledging and thanking God for the opportunities and successes that have come my way. It’s about recognizing that our abilities and achievements are gifts from a higher power. There was a moment in my entrepreneurial journey when things seemed incredibly challenging, and I felt like I was at a crossroads. During that time, I turned to prayer and meditation for guidance. It was in those moments of reflection and faith that I found the strength and clarity to make crucial decisions that led to the growth of my business. I truly believe that my connection with God during that period made all the difference. Gratitude isn’t just a one-time expression. It’s a daily practice for me. I begin each day with a prayer of thanks for the opportunities, the support of my loved ones, and the resources at my disposal. It’s essential for me to maintain a sense of humility and remember that my success is a result of both hard work and divine grace.
