Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?My name is Jen and I am the proud owner and cosmetic tattoo artist behind Altered Aesthetics. Since diving into this world in 2017, I’ve been on a mission to redefine beauty in Raleigh with my approach to cosmetic tattooing.

I’m all about pushing boundaries and perfecting my craft. With over 15 courses under my belt and learning from the best in the industry, I’m constantly evolving to bring my clients the latest and greatest in permanent makeup.

My philosophy? It’s simple: enhance natural beauty and boost confidence. I work closely with each client to understand their vision, whether it’s achieving stunning, manicured brows or rocking beautiful lips that turn heads.

But it’s not just about the end result for me; it’s about the journey. With Altered Aesthetics, I wanted to create a cozy, welcoming vibe in the studio that makes clients comfortable and alows us to guide them clients through every step of the process with care and expertise. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the brows or lips; it’s about empowering our clients to feel like the best version of themselves.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would give them a tour of the Raleigh food scene. Raleigh’s food scene is pretty darn amazing! Here are my absolute faves: Oakwood Pizza Box for killer pizza, La Santa for amazing Latin food, Oro for Chef Ruiz’s Burrata Salad (seriously, it’s a game-changer and I would follow him anywhere for that salad), Fiction Kitchen for awesome vegan eats, Union Special for the best bread and pastries, Gringo A Go Go for mouthwatering Mexican, and Scott Crawford’s spot for a top-notch dining experience. You won’t be disappointed!
