Meet Jeanette Crump | Director of Operations

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeanette Crump and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeanette, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We aimed to create a work space with a balance of professionalism and comfort. There is a wow-factor when you walk into our office. We also focus heavily on amenities and personal relationships. We are not corporate; we treat our members like people, not numbers. Members enjoy the rotating variety of free snacks and beverages for convenience during their busy work days.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I heard two investors I knew were looking for someone to open and run a coworking office in their commercial space, I tracked them down and convinced them I was the person for the job. Although I knew nothing about coworking, I had an entrepreneurial spirit, a little bit of experience in management, marketing, and entrepreneurship, and I was hungry for a creative challenge.
When they agreed to give me the job, they told me the goal and it was my job to find a path to get there. I had a 9,000 sqft abandoned office space and a limited budget. I did almost everything to open the office and maintain its daily operations. I worked on interior design, interviewing software management companies, created a brand and logo, began marketing efforts, researched competitors, organized social events in the community, coordinated HVAC, plumbing and electrical work, created competitive pricing models, created our operating procedures, and acted as the office manager when we opened. Today, I remain the only employee, so I wear many, many hats.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ll dedicate my shoutout to author, Marie Forleo who wrote, “Everything is Figureoutable.'” The book really changed my mindset to always have a figure-it-out mentality. When others say, “That’s not an going to work,” I dig deeper and look for, or create, solutions.
