We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Zamparelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, why did you pursue a creative career?
When my two oldest children were younger they really wanted a YouTube channel so my husband and I decided to grant their wish and we made one as well as all the social media channels to go with it. When they started to get a little older they just lost interest but I still had all the social media pages. During the pandemic and my children were home from school I had to drop down to part-time at my job to be able to assist them with school. During that same time frame, my eldest was diagnosed with Autism and my husband got very sick and was hospitalized for two weeks. I had been doing social media for the company I work for and I decided I really enjoy it. So, that is when I started getting into Instagram as a content creator and really pushing that. It was an avenue to deal with the stress of the pandemic and help cope with what was going on in my personal life. It was also an avenue to help financially. Now, several years later I am still passionate about it and it has become an asset to our family.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It took me several years to find my voice and exactly what kind of content I wanted to make. I pride myself on being truthful and transparent with my followers. I am always open to talking to them one on one via DMs and am truly passionate on speaking about my adventures through life, marriage, and motherhood. I also love to make people laugh so even though I can share serious topics I always love to help lighten the mood with some humor and often share funny content to put smiles on people’s faces.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them all around Charlotte but also around the small towns surrounding the area. I come from the big city (Long Island, NY) but have been in North Carolina for almost two decades so I would show them what small town life is like and the importance of supporting small businesses within these towns.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my family for supporting me in this endeavor.
