We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaime Saunders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaime, how do you think about risk?
I am a “winger”… lol…. I literally wing my way through life. Some people love lists and precise planning and perfect posing and a smile in every photo. I love real. And getting real involves taking risks. So I would say in life and in business taking risks is needed!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love every form of art, but photography has been my true love for as long as I can remember. As with any art, the struggle to get your name out there with so much competition is, and always has been, the hardest part. But persistence and attitude and networking over the years has kept me in the game. I’ve most definitely learned to keep learning… there’s never too much knowledge. And as far as my brand goes, well… we’re still growing and evolving and loving ourselves and what we capture for others more and more every day!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whew! Who has time or energy to visit me for a whole week?? 😂 We would for sure visit the NC Museum of Art and snap a few pics because they are amazing! There are way too many restaurants to name here in NC, where you can get a mix of country and fancy all on one plate. Hopefully the state fair is in town when my bff visits and maybe we’ll have time to hit up a NC State football game. And no way they’re leaving without us going to the farmers market and grabbing some flowers for the kitchen table.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
They say it takes a village to raise a child… well, that applies to adults sometimes too. Haha… So my little village of people that encourage me and push me and make me feel like I’m always and forever on top of the world include my business partner and his family and my three babies that are definitely full grown adults now. Lol… And a special shout-out to my aunt and my grandmother who are no longer on this earth with me, but who are forever in my heart reminding me how important memories are.
