We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Rhone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think, growing up, I was so afraid to take risk because I was afraid of what other people would think but I had to grow out of that because all It did was make me feel like I was living my life to please others, so I had to start thinking for myself, and really find out who I was as a person, i’ve quit several jobs in order to pursue modeling, full-time, not knowing if it would work out, knowing I had bills to pay, and I really put my faith in the possibility. I don’t think anybody that’s actually really successful, Has not taken those risks because living in fear is not going to get you where you want to be. Not pursuing those dreams will leave you unfulfilled. I think when you are young, it is important to take these risks so that you can really build on the foundation of experience, and most importantly, have no regret for taking the time to do so.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a professional model, songwriter, artist, & fashion/interior designer. I started modeling when I was 14. I was scouted by a agency that really helped me get my foot in the door. I ended up being a Model coach there for a little while before I left that agency. From there I got into fashion design. Being behind stage and seeing designers put things together, really gave me a new love for that. Growing up I really always love decorating as I would change my room like every week. In high school I took 2 interior designing classes and later went to college to major in design. Quickly realized College was not for me so I dropped out, I took a break from all of that to save and get my money right. During that time I had a friend that was really into music. We had been hanging out one day and he asked me if I wanted to hop on a song. I ended up doing it and loved the whole process. I started writing heavy. Ended up in a relationship with a producer who heard some of my songs, and wanted me to really start recording them. I believe he was the one who introduced me to a music manager at the time and I really locked in with the recording for months as he had a personal studio that he let us use whenever. I later departed from both of those people. I ended up releasing a album and got back into modeling. I formed connections with photographers, got enough pictures to submit to agencies., and got signed to three more agencies. and it has now been a year since my signings. I have made so many connections traveled so much and really made a living off of modeling. It definitely was not easy but I trusted God‘s plan. I allowed him to have full control over where I needed to be in the moment. I didn’t have fear, and that is why I truly think that’s what allowed me to prosper. It took me having to struggle financially & mentally to get to this point of life. I’ve learned that nothing is ever impossible, and you can make anything work outs as long as you believe in it, and put forth the time and effort to make it happen. Firm believer in manifesting as well. I’m excited for where God is taking me next. I have big plans, but I don’t believe in sharing them publicly until it is literally happening so you will just have to stay tuned for what’s next.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I honestly never go out anymore. Raleigh is very played out for me but we would definitely have to go downtown on a weekday and a weekend night. On the weekday, we would definitely just explore downtown and try some fun things out maybe pottery or a boxing class. On the weekend we definitely have to hit a club or two. As far as food, we would have to go to Fenton and North Hills. Colletta and Firebirds are my favorite restaurants here. North Hills also has a really nice bowling alley that we would go. I’m very fond on adventures, so maybe we might take a hike or get in the car and just drive.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out everyone who has ever doubted me. That has given me the biggest motivation for my success today. I want to shout out A list model and talent for finding my passion and giving me confidence and the starting tools to be able to follow this dream. Definitely have to give some thanks to my mom as she was the one who paid for my first NYFW trip when I was 17. That trip opened my eye to unlimited possibilities. and most importantly myself for never giving up. Being my own hype woman, and taking the risks necessary to evolve.
