Meet Jackie Benjamin | Founder and CEO, WeAssist Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Benjamin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting a business wasn’t part of the plan. I was working for a company I really liked, and entrepreneurship wasn’t even on my radar. But at the end of 2018, I went through some big personal shifts that gave me space to stop and think. One night, I woke up out of a sound sleep with two thoughts in my head: Help women and Start a business. It was random and unexpected, and I brushed it off at first.
But the idea kept tugging at me. I started exploring what it could look like to create a business that not only supported clients but also created opportunities for others. That’s where the idea for WeAssist Marketing started to take shape.
At first, it was more general virtual assistant work, but it quickly evolved into what we do now — helping home service businesses grow through social media in a way that actually builds relationships. I didn’t set out to become a business owner, but once I saw the potential to do work that was both strategic and meaningful, I couldn’t unsee it. It just made sense.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
WeAssist Marketing is a digital marketing agency that helps home service businesses like HVAC, plumbing, and remodeling companies stand out online and build relationships through social media. What makes us different is our approach to outbound engagement. We don’t just post and forget it. We take it a step further by interacting directly with other businesses on behalf of our clients, liking, commenting, following, and starting conversations so their brand isn’t just visible, it’s actively connecting with others in their local community.
That human-to-human interaction is often the missing piece in most social strategies, and that’s where we shine.
Right now, I’m most excited about an automation we’re building that will help contractors grow their presence on TikTok and YouTube in a more streamlined, consistent way. I can’t share all the details yet, but it’s going to make it a whole lot easier for them to show up on platforms that drive serious visibility.
Getting to this point took time. In the beginning, I was doing everything myself — figuring out systems, refining offers, juggling all the moving parts. There was plenty of trial and error, but I kept going and stayed committed to creating something that worked for the kinds of businesses we support.
One of the best lessons I’ve learned? You don’t need every detail locked in before you begin. Taking action brings clarity and that’s where real momentum starts.
What I want people to know about WeAssist Marketing is that we’re not here to hand you a trendy strategy and disappear. We show up and put in the work consistently, thoughtfully, and with the kind of follow-through most business owners wish they had more time for. We help our clients build a presence that’s real, active, and built to support steady growth over time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
