Meet Ihar Sukhikh | Owner SmartFix Appliance repair and tecnician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ihar Sukhikh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ihar, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
About 20 years ago I trained as an aircraft technician, so I have the skills to repair any electrical equipment, which is why I opened a repair business.
And it all started with the fact that we came to the USA without knowledge of English and education in the USA, it was really very difficult for us, one of the first jobs here was working in a company repairing household appliances, but due to certain difficulties in the company there was very little work, and we were forced to start our own business. Our company SmartFix Appliance Repair. And we try to do it well.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
First and foremost, I try to create an honest business for technicians and clients. We have fixed prices for repairs, I am sure much lower than market prices, and a truthful explanation to clients about the state of affairs and how the process is going, whether it is the delivery of spare parts or repairs. This is especially true for commercial appliances.
The most important thing is that we always answer 24/7. Even if the client calls at night, the call will be answered. Every client is important to us. My wife knows absolutely all the information about each client. We work 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm. Our technicians are very responsible and professional, which is reflected in more than 500 5 stars on Google. We are very proud of this and thank each client for their honest feedback. A year ago we had only 2 technicians and 20 reviews, and now there are more than 600 on different sites and 6 technicians in all areas of the city. We work in Charlotte, Mooresville, Cornelius, Concord and Fort Mill, as well as in Waxhaw and Indian Trail. We will come to you the same day or the next day, at any time convenient for you. We also recently won the City of Charlotte city tender and will soon be providing home appliance repair services in our city.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Charlotte for a week, here’s how I would plan their stay:
Day 1: Downtown Exploration
• Start with breakfast at a local café.
• Visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame and then stroll through Romare Bearden Park.
• For lunch, I’d suggest a popular spot like Mellow Mushroom.
• In the evening, we could have dinner at a nice restaurant downtown.
Day 2: South End and Brewing
• We’d have breakfast at a great bakery.
• Then, explore the South End neighborhood, checking out local shops and art galleries.
• For lunch, we could grab a bite at a brewery like Lenny Boy Brewing Co.
• In the evening, we’d enjoy dinner at The Peculiar Rabbit, followed by live music at a local venue.
Day 3: Parks and Nature
• Start with breakfast at a local diner.
• Spend the morning at Freedom Park, enjoying the trails and lake.
• For lunch, we could have a picnic or eat at a nearby café.
• In the afternoon, we could visit the Charlotte Botanical Garden.
• Finish the day with dinner at a nice restaurant nearby.
Day 4: Outdoor Adventures
• We could take a day trip to Lake Norman for kayaking or paddleboarding.
• Have lunch at a lakeside restaurant.
• Spend the afternoon relaxing on the water.
Day 5: Arts and Culture
• Start with breakfast at a local favorite.
• Visit the Mint Museum Uptown for some art.
• For lunch, we could try a popular deli.
• Explore more art at the Bechtler Museum.
• Dinner at a trendy spot followed by a night out in NoDa.
Day 6: Shopping and Relaxation
• Have breakfast at a cozy café.
• Spend the day shopping at SouthPark Mall or exploring local boutiques.
• For lunch, we could visit a fun food truck or restaurant.
• In the evening, we’d enjoy dinner at a nice restaurant and maybe check out a bar with craft cocktails.
Day 7: Wrap-Up
• Start with brunch at a popular spot.
• Spend the morning at the U.S. National Whitewater Center for outdoor activities.
• For lunch, we could eat at their café.
• In the afternoon, relax and reflect on the week before heading out for a final dinner at a nice restaurant.
Overall, Charlotte has a lot to offer, from great parks and outdoor activities to a vibrant downtown and arts scene. It would be a fun week filled with diverse experiences!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Of course, my wife, we run a business together and without her help and efforts nothing would have worked out.
