Meet Griselda Rivera | Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Griselda Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Griselda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was deeply rooted in breaking generational curses and stepping out of the traditional path that was expected of me. As a young Latina and first-generation entrepreneur/business owner, I saw firsthand how financial limitations and a lack of business knowledge held my family and community back. I knew I didn’t want to settle for just working a job—I wanted to create opportunities, build wealth, and inspire others to do the same.
I chose to be the employer, not the employee, because I wanted control over my future and the ability to make a real impact. It wasn’t just about financial freedom; it was about creating a legacy and showing others that they, too, can break barriers and build something of their own. Taking this risk wasn’t easy, but I knew that staying in my comfort zone would never lead to the success and generational change I envisioned. So, I bet on myself—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart is my ability to truly cater to each business differently. Every business has its own goals, challenges, and motives, so I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Whether it’s building a business through marketing or physically building a home, I tailor my approach to fit each unique situation.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy—I faced countless challenges and setbacks, but I kept going because consistency is key in business. Running a business changes your entire perspective on time; it becomes a currency because every task, whether simple or complex, takes something from you while providing value in return.
I actively put myself in spaces where I can learn, grow, and connect. Attending industry events allows me to meet people who either complement my businesses or inspire new ideas. We build off each other—our experiences, our challenges, and our lifestyles. At the core of everything I do, I’m in the business of building—whether it’s businesses, homes, or relationships that drive success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
OMG how fun! Well my bestie absolutely loves experiences. We are experience girlies. I am a Cary girl so I grew up in the area and now there is so much to do!
Monday: Arrival Day
I would let her rest then catch a brunch at a staple for us, Rosewater Kitchen and Bar in North Hills. After I am a HUGE fan of self-care, we could have a spa day at the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary.
Tuesday: NC is in such a great location because with a short 2-hr drive. BEACH DAY!
I absolutely love Wrightsville beach! Every beach trip, I love to go to Bluewater Waterfront Grill! Crab cakes are amazing!
Wednesday: head back to Cary! Freshen up then head to Fenton! I absolutely love M Sushi in Fenton and drinks at Dram & Draught. I like to walk through the Cary Downtown Park! Vendors set up or food trucks that make it a lively environment and super fun!
Thursday: I just joined the Brier Creek Country Club so we could go play a round or sun bath by the pool. I was previously a member at City Club Raleigh (so missed) and most people moved over there with Liz, amazing membership director!
Friday: Walk through Duke Gardens in Durham! Head to Zinc Winery for a nice girls lunch! Then go to a family friends restaurant, La Mala in Durham for dinner or Crawford Brothers Steakhouse is a new hit really depending on the vibes for the “Friday Night”. Ending the night with dessert and drinks at Bittersweet!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this to my parents and God. God has been the best business partner I could have, guiding me through every challenge and opening doors I never imagined. My parents have unlearned the qualities that once held them back and, in doing so, have supported me in ways that mean the world. Their willingness to embrace a new mindset and encourage my entrepreneurial journey has been invaluable.
I have surrounded myself with like minded individuals and am so grateful for the experience but that truly has made an impact in my life.
