Meet Fangyi Cheng | Reiki Practitioner and Qigong Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fangyi Cheng and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fangyi, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
I have been given the privilege to work with many very advanced souls who long for further healing of their mind, body and spirit. The most important lesson I have learned through my experience of working with them, is that as an energy healing practitioner, my main job is really to provide companionship. It is true that I might use different techniques or modalities to facilitate people’s healing process. And I have worked so hard to learn those skills and to apply them. But they are just tools. My main job in a session is still to accept people for who they are and where they are, keep them company, and witness their journey. And that is how healing happens, by giving my clients the opportunity to be seen, heard and accepted. And then they would go from there and achieve healing by themselves.
This is a really humbling realization. Adapting this mindset has also helped me tremendously as for clarifying what my responsibilities really are, and how best to help people. You don’t want to approach people as if you know better than they do as for how to heal. Because you don’t. You want to help them in such a way that not only are they supported by the light you share, but also for them to see their own light and power. This way when they walk out of a session, they hold more strength in them than when they came in. I am now convinced that this is what healing should look like.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an energy healing practitioner and Qigong teacher. I am very excited about facilitating people’s healing and different ways to support them. I am a firm believer that everyone owns the ability to heal themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the triangle area in NC, and there are so many things this area can offer. Lake Johnson is by far my favorite place. Also in Raleigh, the museum of art offers not only exceptional exhibitions, but also a huge, beautiful park for an energizing walk.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband Yumin Lin, without whose love and trust I would never have been able to pursue my dream. Also my Reiki Teacher Susan Melchione, who has accompanied me on my spiritual path and have been a major support in my own healing.
