We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before I started The KettleBelle, I didn’t really have a business-mindset behind it. I just loved using kettlebells and wanted to share that with others. As I began teaching classes and holding local events, I started to view it more as a business. I love sharing this passion with people and hearing how they like my classes, they feel stronger, they’ve reached a specific goal of theirs and everything. I can definitely reach more people with my On Demand library and create this community online. That’s when I was like okay, we’re going to make this into a business. We’re going to help folks and bring them together online. We’re going to inspire them, educated them, and support them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have worked in fitness for over 10 years collectively. When I started my fitness journey, I moved on to become a CPT but i didn’t love the 1:1 and program design. From there, I had a fairly successful blog called Ladoes, Lattes, and Lifting where we had over 1,000 monthly visitors on average. I found kettlebells a few years ago, they changed my entire health journey and that’s when I knew I had to share this with others. I got certified within the specialty and began teaching online and in person. There are plenty of other kettlebell coaches out there but I think my personality is very authentic and professional and my classes are there to help you, not injure you. My coaching style is to very supportive, I provide you with the tools but everyone’s body and journey are different.

Along the way, I have learned that you cannot replicate what someone else is doing and expect the same results. Building a business, building a brand is tough and it takes time. But if you’re a kind person, if you truly want to see others succeed, and if you’re yourself, Intruly believe success is coming your way. You just have to practice patience.

I want the world to know that my brand, my story, they’re personal to me. As an individual and a brand, I care about each person who signs on, who takes a class with me, who sends me a message. I hope the best and utmost happiness for each one of you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is fantastic because I love my state! I would certainly suggest them to eat at Crafted (Greensboro or Mebane, they’re both fire!) and to grab a drink at Mini Dingo in downtown Burlington. If you’re looking for somewhere chill to hangout, I believe downtown Greensboro has a lot of options even just to take a stroll! Or you can come by and visit me at Find Your Flow in downtown Greensboro.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I believe my community as a whole has really inspired me to spearhead The KettleBelle. My clients and friends really support me by showing up and brainstorming ideas with me, which means a lot. My friend Alicia is my unofficial videographer and photographer and she’s always there to help with ideas and support me during the times I’ve wondered if this could actually be a business. Without my community, my friends, and other kettlebell coaches who have mentored me, I wouldn’t be here!
