We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Sizemore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, what do you want your legacy to be?
Crafting a legacy holds great importance for me. I aspire to leave behind a memorable imprint, not only as a matriarch imparting wisdom and exemplary values to my family but also as a dedicated real estate professional striving to enhance the lives of my clients and their legacies.
My hope is that my family turns to me for guidance, support, and a wellspring of inspiration. I aim to be a pillar of strength for them, empowering each successive generation to flourish and leave an indelible mark.
Residing in Raleigh with our three sons and two grandchildren, we are building cherished memories here. This, in turn, fuels my commitment to contribute to our community, and I aspire to be remembered because I went the extra mile to help my clients realize their dreams and financial goals. This desire is beyond professional success; it encompasses service and generosity to enrich the fabric of Raleigh.
Something I read years ago, which continues to inspire me, said, “If I am going to build my business around a community and make my living serving that community, then by definition, it has to be a community I WANT to be a part of. Every day. All day.” I hope to leave a legacy that is one of significance to both family and community.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In the real estate industry, trust plays a pivotal, often underestimated, role. We don’t simply open doors; we are stewards who guide and protect our clients throughout their real estate journeys. We bear the responsibility of preserving our clients’ interests and equipping them with the knowledge required for informed decision-making. Our clients entrust us with their confidence, and we operate as fiduciaries, dedicated to their interests and safeguarding their substantial financial investments. Real estate transactions are not everyday purchases; they involve significant assets and life-altering decisions.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit Raleigh, choosing where to take her wouldn’t be easy because our area offers a plethora of options.
Our adventure would most likely kick off at William & Co, a cozy cocktail lounge nestled within a historic building on Person Street. With its dimly lit, speakeasy ambiance and an impressive selection of craft cocktails, including my personal favorite, Mezcal, it would be the ideal starting point for our evening.
Next, we’d make our way to Hummingbird, a remarkable restaurant known for its small plates. Their outdoor seating takes full advantage of our pleasant seasonal weather, particularly in the spring and fall. We’d indulge in an array of dishes, many of which are crafted by the owner, Colleen Speaks, who can often be found at the bar, conjuring up innovative creations.
Our journey would culminate with a visit to the North Carolina Museum of Art Park. This outdoor park is a serene blend of art and nature, featuring scenic trails for us to explore and admire the impressive outdoor art installations and sculptures.
