Meet Emmitt Terrell | Owner of Level 6 Training

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emmitt Terrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emmitt, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking calculated risk is one of the most important things that we as humans can do. If you want to grow and develop and experience life to its fullest extent you have to push through to the horizon line of your comfort zone. Again, calculated risk is important. I’m not talking about being reckless or taking unnecessary risks but setting reach goals and choosing growth over comfort. I see so many people in life get to the launching off point of starting something or venturing out on their own and they simply give up before they begin because the fear of the unknown and the downside of risk holds them at bay.
I think risk is essential and even critical to life. Anything worthwhile never comes easily and risk has played a central role in where I”m at today. Whether it was a chance encounter that led to a trusted friendship or business venture that required a big leap of faith I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without having rolled the dice a few times! It’s important to say that it doesn’t always “work out” how you think it should either but that shouldn’t deter you from giving your absolute best.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Level 6 Training is a place where you can come to “Build a Better You”. Yes we offer physical training but I firmly believe that fitness, health & wellness is truly transcendental. It impacts every other vertical of life. Your ability to be a friend, to be a romantic partner, to be a sister, brother, son or daughter or mother or father! Every vertical of life is touched by your relationship with yourself, and your relationship with yourself only can improve if you get healthier and more vibrant as a human. I would even go a step further and posit to you that it is your responsibility to care for your body and mind and spirit so that you can be a force of light in the world. Darkness abounds, choose a different path, both for your family and loved ones and for yourself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Fuquay Varina has the appeal of a genuine American small-town. Wholesome, fun, accessible so there’s plenty to do. We’d probably try and schedule a workout at Level 6. After that we’d likely plan a few rounds of golf. There’s also an abundance of local breweries to spend time at for a post-round “round” if you will. The Mill is a great spot for a beer and local breweries like: Vicious Fishes and Mason Jar Lager Co are fun hangs and usually have food trucks or their own eclectic menu.
That’s honestly enough to fill a week right there. I would definitely want to show them around some of the newer restaurants and spend some time at Happy’s Country Club which is a cool golf simulator concept that just opened recently downtown.
We’d probably plan one night to go to an upscale dinner at Brewery Bhavana in Raleigh and do cocktails at Watts & Ward afterwards so they could see some of Raleigh as well. It’s one of my favorite cities.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This section hits close to home for me. First and foremost, I’d like to thank God for blessing my current endeavor and leading people into my life to be able to bring my dreams to fruition. Without Him and His grace and love, none of this would be possible. Secondly, I’d like to thank my business partner Corey for strapping himself into this rickety rocket ship of a venture and enduring the highs and lows with me! Finally, I’d like to thank our amazing clientele. The support and love you all show Level 6 is amazing1
