We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Saunders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a brand new mom, I desired an opportunity that would allow me to spend time with my first son while also using my love for fitness and nutrition. Our four pillars are motherhood, faith, fitness and nutrition and at the time (2013), there were very few options for women seeking to prioiritize all four with proper balance.

What should our readers know about your business?
Momsanity is on a mission to help moms and all women feel their best. Most health and fitness professionals promote extremes that don’t really align with real life and at Momsanity we desire to provide solutions that resonate for women with little time to prepare, plan and execute. Debbie and I are both in our mid-late 40s now and we understand the complexity of the female body, impacts of stress, and the importance of rest allowing us to truly help women in the same stage of life.

Through innovative natural nutritional products like our collagen and vegetable blend protein powder appopriately named, Mom Fuel, practical advice, and our amazing fitness program, The Momsanity Sisterhood, we seek to meet moms where they are to support their goals with simplicty and effectiveness.

At Momsanity, we’re committed to providing clean, high-quality nutritional products that taste DELICIOUS and contain only wholesome ingredients. Our products aren’t loaded with stimulants and contain no artificial ingredients, gluten, dairy, soy, metals, GMOs, or preservatives. We don’t cut corners. We demand a lot from our manufacturers in order to meet our high standards. And we stand behind our products as real people who are fully involved in the development, sales, distribution and customer experience processes.

We’ve worked very hard for twelve years bit by bit to grow, scale and pivot. We are grateful for God’s provision over our little dream that continues to become reality. Between the two of us, Debbie and I have nine children aged 20 something down to 18 months. Seasons of motherhood change and shift and it’s a pleasure to help women prioritize their mental, physical and spiritual health while keeping their family responsibilities front and center. We love Jesus and desire to honor Him in all we do!

Remember when social media was super curated? Not at Momsanity. We’ve always been all about sharing our real lives and struggles, imperfect families and homes, makeup free faces and the like.

It’s such a joy to serve!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I’m officially old and as a mom of five who oversees school at home two days per week, our outings are a little more “boring” these days.

Favorite Hang outs:

The Sherwood is my “office” away from home. There is a salad I created that’s not on the menu, but there is a button. Just ask for the Emily Salad (it’s a chicken philly with buffalo sauce on a salad).

River Birch Lodge- a favorite spot for celebrations appropriate for families, girls nights etc.

Yamas- we love healthy food and Yamas delivers with quick counter service and quality mediterranean cuisine.

Date Nights:

My husband and I love live music and the outdoors. A few favorites for both:

Westbend Bar and Venue in Lewisville: Gorgeous, casual setting with regular live music

The Remedy: A cozy spot for coffee or cocktails perfect for working, hangouts and dates. We love the Saturday evening jazz

Incendiary Brewing: We love the old coal pit for live music. Perfect for any event with families.

Family Time:

When we’re not at the soccer field, we love hanging out at Reynolda Village, hiking at Pilot Mountain, and stopping by Cobblestone Farmer’s Market

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to offer a shout out to my husband, Wiggy for his unending support and love. Fun Fact: When brainstorming business names, Momsanity was his idea.

My business partner Debbie is amazing and our gifts are so different so we compliment eachother well.

We also have an incredible behind the scenes team providing support and lots of sweat. Rachel, Taryn, Lori, and Siobhan you’re all amazing!
