We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominic Adonis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominic, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work-life balance might be a little different than the average persons- mainly because I do not believe in breaks.

I feel I am young and that I need to get as much produced while I am young, so that when I mature, I can fall back a bit and enjoy the work I have been putting in over the time.

Clinically, I know you are not supposed to over work yourself- but for some odd reason, I believe I tend to work better in stressful situations like being booked back-to-back and constantly being on “go” mode.

Plus, I love what I do, so it does not necessarily feel like “work”.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would say I am most proud of the project that I am currently working on as well as some that just wrapped.

I have been kind of quiet lately on social media because of all the work I have been putting in behind the scenes.

Lately, I have been stepping out my comfort zone of just modeling and have been breaking more into some background acting. I always told myself I did not want to talk on camera, not because I’m shy or anything like that, but because I wanted to try and being mysterious- but now, I’m looking to hog as much screentime as possible, speaking or not, haha.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would for sure start off walking and talking and getting caught up, in North Hills on like a Monday,
For dinner- we’d probably eat somewhere local to North Hills,
Tuesday- movies in Cary-Fenton for sure.
Wednesday- probably back walking.

You have to understand- I work a lot so I have yet to truly explore PLUS I am pescetarian, so eating out isn’t something I do often, so I mainly will do a tofu-taco salad at home, haha, So although I love a good itinerary, I truly feel like I would not be the BEST of hosts!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would actually love to send a shout out to my mother- she has always been there and is for sure one of my greatest supporters. A bit of a cliche, I’m aware, but it’s true. She is very interactive and involved in what I have going on and I love coming back from a travelling gig and telling her all the juicy tea on the behind the scenes, haha.

Just as much as she supports me, I like to support her as well.

My mom actually founded and runs a local small business here in Raleigh, Let’s Get Social Raleigh, Raleigh’s Adult Recess.
