We had the good fortune of connecting with Deondre Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deondre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting Invincible Young Empire was a way to control our own narrative. A business that started as a few friends in high school that shared the same love for music and created a brand that ventured into different aspects of life. Invincible Young Empire’s vision has always been to control one’s narrative and to exercise one’s creative so the world can witness it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being in the position that I am in currently was nowhere easy. Imagine being the person who has all this creative energy and nonstop thoughts of bringing something to life and people telling you it’s not possible or showing you they don’t believe in you. That alone is something that always gave me the fire to prove them wrong and it still does. I’ve always been a person to bet on myself and know that something great will come out of the hard work that I put in. I’m a believer in the discipline and dedication you put in, the benefits will come in a large way.

What I’ve always learned during this journey is that everyone isn’t going to understand your vision and that everyone isn’t going to accept who you are. There are people in this life of ours that are intimidated of the greatness we possess. We can’t be afraid of the greatness within. We have to share it with the world and be the best version of ourselves everyday.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a Baltimorean, there are many places I can introduce them to. We have the historic Inner Harbor, where there’s the National Aquarium and great food restaurants. There’s the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles stadiums. If they’re into theater, we have the historic Hippodrome Theatre and the CFG Bank Arena, Power Plant Live!, Rams Head Live or Pier Six Pavilion for live shows. A new restaurant attraction that I would introduce them to is YG Teck’s “Culture Bar & Grill’.

Baltimore is filled with culture so it would depend on what they’re looking for. We have a plethora of places to express your love for art and world history.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I would like to shout out one person, I would surely want to thank my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. I am not sure if you want this answer, but without a doubt, my faith is very important to me and without my faith, me being in this position wouldn’t be possible. It’s very easy for me to show love to others that showed their support and love for me during this journey, but I am taking the time to speak on my faith and shed light on that.
