We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Mullen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danny, how does your business help the community?
My mission goes beyond buying and selling homes — it’s about creating opportunity and equity in a space where African Americans have historically been excluded. Despite being one of the most powerful tools for generational wealth, homeownership among African Americans remains disproportionately low. Not long ago, systemic barriers restricted where African Americans could live, regardless of their financial standing. My business is committed to changing that narrative. Through education, advocacy, and personalized guidance, I help more Black families navigate the path to homeownership, empowering them to build lasting wealth and claim their place in communities once closed off to them. Every home purchased is a step toward economic justice and long-term transformation.

What should our readers know about your business?
I wear a few hats — I’m a high-producing real estate agent and investor, and I also serve as the Vice President of one of the largest automobile repossession forwarding companies in the country. Balancing both roles isn’t easy, but I seize every ounce of every minute in the day to make it work. I believe when you operate with purpose and discipline, success will follow.

What sets me apart is my commitment to creating generational wealth — not just for myself, but for others. Whether I’m helping a family buy their first home or advising an investor on their next move, my mission is the same: build long-term value and break cycles of financial limitation.

The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced plenty of challenges, from navigating industries not built for people who look like me, to learning how to lead at scale. But those experiences taught me resilience, strategy, and how to move with both heart and precision.

I want the world to know that my brand stands for legacy, ownership, and opportunity. I’m not just building a business — I’m building pathways for others to rise with me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1 – Welcome to the City
We’d kick things off with dinner at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in Uptown — classy vibes, great wine, and one of the best steaks in the city. Afterward, a walk around Romare Bearden Park to take in the skyline.

Day 2 – Game Day Energy
If it’s football season, we’re headed to a Panthers game at Bank of America Stadium — nothing like the buzz of game day in Charlotte. Pre-game at Ink N Ivy or Graham Street Pub for rooftop drinks and city views.

Day 3 – Exploring & Eats
We’d take the day to explore Camp North End — art, music, and some wild good eats. Then slide over to Optimist Hall for food stall hopping, drinks, and chill hangout vibes.

Day 4 – Courtside and Cool
Catch a Hornets game at the Spectrum Center and get loud. Before the game, grab dinner at Cowbell Burger & Whiskey Bar, then hit up SLATE or The Local after for nightlife.

Day 5 – Lake Life Escape
Head out to Lake Norman or Lake Wylie for a little boating, relaxation, and a break from the city hustle. Eat waterfront at Hello, Sailor or Drift on Lake Wylie.

Day 6 – Culture & Chill
Visit the Harvey B. Gantt Center or Mint Museum to tap into Black culture and local art. Dinner at Mert’s Heart and Soul for that soul food fix, then end the night with jazz at The Imperial.

Day 7 – Sunday Funday
Wrap it all up with brunch at STIR or The Crunkleton, then take a stroll through South End for coffee, shopping, and murals. Easy, relaxed day before the trip ends.

Charlotte has energy, soul, and culture — and I’d make sure my best friend felt every bit of it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Big shoutout to Sir Ashley and the entire Lifestyle International Realty family 🙌🏾

Sir Ashley took me under his wing and gave me a shot when others didn’t. That opportunity changed the game for me. I’m grateful for the guidance, support, and the belief he had in me from day one. To be surrounded by a team that truly wants to see you win — that’s rare, and I don’t take it for granted. 💯

Let’s keep breaking barriers and making impact together! 🔑🏡

Shoutout to my late mother, Alfreda Taylor — the woman who taught me that nothing in life is given, everything is earned. Your strength and lessons live in me every single day.

To my father, Danny Sr — thank you for molding me into the man I am today. Your discipline, example, and love laid the foundation.

And to my two daughters, Aniya & J’lynn — you are my why. You push me to be better, to be greater, and to leave behind a legacy worth carrying.

Everything I do is for you. 💙👑
