We had the good fortune of connecting with Dan Harmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
At Exit Strategy, we’re always focused on exceeding expectations and delivering value. We love it when people get to play our escape rooms and have a great time! We strive to over-deliver, so the Customer gets more than what they expected, more than what they paid for. We want them to have a unique memory that they can cherish with their friends or family members forever!
Our Game Masters play a huge role in making each experience unique for each particular Customer group. We really enjoy what we do, and we think that caring attitude translates into exceptional experiences for each of our Customers!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Exit Strategy is the #1 escape room business in the Carolinas! We currently have 26 custom-made, one-of-a-kind escape room adventures, spread across 5 different physical locations. We built this business through hard work and a willingness to adapt and spot opportunities when they arose. During the Covid years, there were times when we were completely shut down. We used those down times to build new rooms, expand to new locations, and retool our process. Throughout it all, we were able to maintain our focus on delivering exceptional experiences to our Customers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would play a couple different escape rooms each day, of course! But there’s nothing better than finishing an escape room and then grabbing a drink while we rehash all the excitement, twists and turns. And we are in NC, so there would be barbecue, plenty of barbecue!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout to all of our staff at Exit Strategy! They take a lot of pride and ownership in what they do. They really enjoy helping our Customers make unforgettable memories, and they go above and beyond in making sure everything works smoothly. I’m so proud of our staff – they make my job a lot easier!!
