Meet Charhonda Muhammad | Clinical Massage Therapist & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Charhonda Muhammad and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charhonda, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
It can be very difficult to build the support of your community through therapeutic touch and it’s mostly because massage therapy once had a bad name, and you have to build trust before the support follows. The easiest way to do this is to get out in the community and attend events. I would suggest talking to as many people as you can about your brand and how you will help the community.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So many people call themselves healers and it is beautiful to heal but I’m set apart because I’ve been doing this since I was very young. I would experience trauma or something I wanted to change within myself and with the help of Allah, I was always able to overcome it. So, when I meet men or women struggling with addiction, stress, obesity, insecurity, depression, suicidal thoughts, bad relationships, or whatever. I can easily show empathy and sympathy because I was exactly where they are. What most people don’t realize is that pain management does not originate always from the muscles. Sometimes it comes from emotional or mental pain deep within the body, but the muscles take a hold of it. I explain this in grave detail to my clients and with scientific proof. This is what excites me the most about my career. The ability to teach others anatomy and physiology which will ultimately heal them completely and their families. This has not always been easy. I’ve stayed up for many nights, days, and weeks studying to become the best in my field. Over the course of this journey, I’ve learned how to properly communicate, patience, and perseverance. I want the world to know that massage therapy is a medical necessity. It is needed for peace of mind, longevity in limbs, and for pain free days.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Tony’s Pizza, the Grid for fun, and then on a stroll through uptown Charlotte.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that have contributed to my journey, but Allah God is #1. He has molded and shaped me into a brand-new woman. By following the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the leadership of Minister Louis Farrakhan. I’ve been extremely blessed to meet some amazing women and men such as Six Figure Spa Chick (Candice Holyfield Parker), Brother Ben X, and so many more. Candice taught me how to go hard for my business against all odds. She gave me a blueprint to follow and support while Brother Ben X helped me perfect my content and showed me how to get creative on social media. They both have helped me in business but there are so many others that I have not mentioned who are also very significant.
