Meet Cecilia Boateng | Event Designer & Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cecilia Boateng and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cecilia, why did you pursue a creative career?
Growing up, I didn’t know what I wanted to do but one day I was watching the Oscars Red Carpet and fell in love with a dress Miley Cyrus was wearing. From then on, I fell in love with fashion and decided to pursue that as a career and that’s how I picked an artistic career

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a wedding design and planning company called EverBe Creatives. We seek to design and plan high-end weddings for the modern couple that dares to be different. Our mission is simple- to bring your vision to life. It has not been easy these past four years – especially this year. I think it takes crazy faith to keep going and be persistent even when you don’t see results.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to tour the town first, see all the touristy things and do all the touristy things. I would take them to my favorite restaurants and my favorite spots. And then I would let them pick and do what they want to do. Lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Hmm, I would shout out my family and friends. They’ve been incredibly supportive and amazingly encouraging. It’s nice to have support even though they don’t fully understand what I do
