We had the good fortune of connecting with Carol Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carol, what do you attribute your success to?
Truly caring. If you truly care about your clients and providing them with the best possible service, you will dedicate yourself to that goal. Of course, you need to have the ability, the skills and the smarts necessary to provide them with the best service, to adequately represent them, but you must care about them as well. The caring drives me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a realtor, licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina. I came to real estate 10 years ago after moving from New York to North Carolina. I’d had a successful career in public relations for non-profits, as well as an equestrian trainer/coach in the hunter jumper world.
The first year in real estate was challenging but once I helped a few clients, they quickly became my best referral system to obtain new clients. I had many clients who had made home/land purchases in the past with other realtors tell me they had never had an agent provide the level of service that I did. I dedicated myself to maintaining that superior level of service to my clients – to give them more than they expected.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to one of our wonderful local wineries. My favorite being Mountain Brook winery which is just 6 minutes from my house. It has the most beautiful, setting, the best wines and wonderful owners and staff who make you feel part of the family.
I would also take them to Tryon International Equestrian Center so they could enjoy watching show jumping at a fantastic facility, as well as a delicious meal! It’s where I spend most Saturday nights during the show season. There are some great stores there to shop at too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother and my grandmother. Both were hardworking women, survivors, who were also caretakers and advocates for animals.
