We had the good fortune of connecting with Camille Weiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camille, what matters most to you?

I think the principle of resilience matters to me most the definition is-
the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I started reading this book called A Gentle Reminder and this page really stood out to me.
It said “ the kindest people are not born that way, they are made. They are the souls that have experienced so much at the hands of life, they are the ones who have dug themselves out of the dark, who have fought to turn every loss into a lesson. The kindest people do not just exist- they choose to soften where circumstance tried to harden them, they choose to believe in goodness because they have seen firsthand why compassion is so necessary. They have seen firsthand why tenderness is so important in the world.
To me, this is a beautiful explanation on what overcoming hardships means and a reminder to be resilient and keep pushing!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nothing good in life ever comes easy!! I swear by this because we live in a generation that romanticizes moving forward as quickly as possible when it comes to careers and future success. It’s okay to take your time!!! There is no point in rushing towards a life that will not inspire you or fulfill you. It’s okay to slow down. It’s okay to take the time you need and it’s NEVER too late to start over, to change your mind. It’s never too late to redirect yourself, to replace the dreams you thought you wanted for the ones that genuinely excite you. I think people lose sight of what they are created for because of society standards but the world needs creatives, it needs people to change it with the vision that they have. If something ignites you then chase it, chase it because you can, because you deserve to experience what you are created for.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, I would take them for a quick bite to eat in North Hills at HAPPY & HALE, and then shop the boutiques there. After that we would go check out the art museum in downtown Raleigh and then eat at Morgan Street food hall for dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I like to think that every single person that’s come into my life was meant to be there for a reason, and I would be lying If I said I didn’t learn anything from everyone. I wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for every person that I’ve cross paths with even if they’ve hurt me. They still taught me something

But I would like to specifically mention my mom, my dad, and my brother and my twin sister Claire. Without them pushing me and helping me through the hard times I wouldn’t be here and I know, for a fact that I wouldn’t have accomplished any of the goals that I have without their support! Family means the world to me, and they are my motivation to become a better person and more successful every day!
