We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Futrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process for starting my business started from years ago I want to say it began with my birth, when I was born my mother passed away at 10 months old my father became estranged immediately after. When you are an orphan I think it breeds an entrepreneurial spirit because you learn to do things for yourself and you want to get to a place where you don’t depend on anyone. When I turned 14 I went into foster care and I got to see how financially abused I was, I had no Advocate and I didn’t know how to speak up for myself. As I got older I made a vow to myself that my offspring or any of my grandchildren would never have to go through poverty I wanted to create a legacy that would allow them to create their own lanes and to have choices in life I wanted to build something that no one could take from them and to show them the value of hard work.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well this has actually happened quite often when I first moved to Raleigh! If I wanted to show a friend a good time it depends on the person but if it was a super fun friend that likes to party we would go to Stir to have a great breakfast or brunch. We would do a little shopping at Crabtree Valley Mall and then go to Primo’s for pizza and salad in Cary. Then to top off the night with good cocktails and dancing we would uber to downtown Glenwood Ave and do a little bar hopping. That would be her Welcome to Raleigh First Day!! For the rest of her trip I would definitly take her to Perry’s Steakhouse and Grill, for a “boujee” dinner we would drive over to Charlotte,NC and visit Lake Norman.Ultimately we would go to The Immersive Experience to check out the Van Gogh Raleigh Exhibit.I would definitely have that friend in my kitchen to sit down to have some Angel Wing Sauce hot wings (the best wings in NC) .That would be a most delightful trip here in Raleigh.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out first and foremost to my father God! My faith in God is the reason that I am who I am.God is the reason that I even exist and I will always acknowledge him first and foremost, the favor and love of God is why I’m here.
