We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Foti, LMBT, MMP and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
When I started Valor Massage I had no idea how to run a business. I saw it as a means to make a living while doing something purposeful with my life- I’ve always been passionate about helping others. As I grew as a business owner and Medical Massage Therapist, I began to see the gaps in the healthcare system and that most aches and pains without an explanation were generally something extremely treatable by a massage therapist and how much relief is in their eyes knowing someone who can help them has an answer. As Valor Massage has grown, we have begun educating the public on the importance of bodywork and the physical and emotional impacts that it has on the body. Integrative healthcare is finally starting to be taken seriously, and we need to be ready! Valor Massage thrives on helping those who need it most- Military, Veterans, First Responders, Healthcare Workers, and their families.
Giving back to our community is something that is huge for us. We donate and particiapte with Continuing the Mission each year as well as giving back to our foster children and local food banks within our community. We are always looking for more organizations that would love to help us improve the circumstances of those who need it most.
Essentially, we are creating a culture founded on honoring yourself and where you are in your healing journey. Healing takes time and it’s not an easy thing to always do, but it is SO worth it once you get to the finish line.

We’ve created a sanctuary of healing for so many people and we’ve only been in business for 4 years! We have become a household brand for those in the Fort Liberty and surrounding areas. We appreciate each person that gives us their support and trust as we take them on their healing journey.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was licensed in 2018 as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified as a Medical Massage Practicioner in 2021. At the beginning of my career, I was working at a spa and not exactly happy with the modality that is typically performed. I was seeing a man at the time that was Military and a competitive Strongman qualifiying for Nationals. He was my guinea pig. I was with him weekly trying new modalities and figuring out what worked- and what didnt. I woke up one morning for work and had about 14 text messages from our Special Forces community asking if I could fix them too- so I quit my job and cried all the way to Fayetteville. I showed up to the first ones house (as I was mobile at the time) and told him that I quit my job for them and that I hoped they would keep me employed- and they definitely did.

I got where I am today professionally with the help of those I am blessed to take care of every day. Without them, I wouldn’t have had the space to make mistakes and improve as a business owner or as a person. I wouldn’t have dived so deep into the medical field if they weren’t my purpose. They are the driving force sometimes when I feel defeated. If they don’t give up, I can’t ever either. Not that I ever planned to!

It’s a good feeling to know that within my career, I’ve built something people see as a beacon of hope and healing. No matter how far our Valor Family goes, they always find their way back here.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I was a freshly seperated woman after an abusive marriage when I founded Valor Massage. I dreamed of the day that I would have a team by my side with the same goals and passions for helping people as much as I do. I would like to thank my entire team ( we call ourselves the Valor Family) for trusting me and putting faith into the mission of Valor Massage. They handle this company with such care, and they see the vision. They have seen me and both my best and my worst- and they continue to stick by my side. That means more to me than anything. They are helping create something so impactful on our community and a legacy that will stick by them their entire career.

I would also like to thank our Director of Business Operations. The one. The only. Cari Piatt. My superwoman. She showed up at the most perfect time in my life and helped me pick up the pieces. She isn’t afraid to call me out or to tell me what I need to hear. I’d like to thank her for the love and care that she pours into this business and for being someone I can 100% trust with everything. I will never be able to repay her for the energy and time that she puts in. She is just a good human to the core- and I am so beyond lucky to have her as a friend and colleague. This thank you isn’t even enough. You’re an incredible person, Cari.

As a small business owner, I am still beside myself that so many people came along for the ride with me- I would lastly like to thank the members and partners of Valor Massage. Without you guys, there would be no Valor Massage. Thank you for trusting us to have your back and to take care of you and your families. We are just getting started as we continue ahead in becoming a recognizeable brand in Integrative care!
