We had the good fortune of connecting with Autumn D and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Autumn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I remember the first major opportunity I had in the music industry was in Atlanta as a lead singer in a girl group with a highly successful record producer. I was so excited and honored to have the opportunity, but I began to recognize the pervasive issue of female artists being overly sexualized in the music industry. Whether it was in the lyrics or our image, as a Christian it made me very uncomfortable. After recognizing this problem and taking the time to reflect on my values and what I wanted to achieve with my music career, I found the solution was starting my own production company. By doing this, it allows me to maintain creative control like producing my own music, writing my own songs and directing my own music videos. Basically I have a hands-on approach to my artistry that allows me to express myself authentically, create meaningful art, and keep artistic integrity.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Being a multi-genre artist, encompassing Country, R&B, and Hip-Hop, sets me apart from others in the music industry in a significant way. My ability to blend and crossover between these distinct genres allows me to create a unique and eclectic sound that appeals to a diverse range of listeners.

I’m most proud of how my lyrics can connect to listeners on a deep emotional level and convey meaningful messages and how it can bring together fans from different musical backgrounds.

And it hasn’t been easy as sometimes my music may sound too country or too R&B or too HipHop, making it hard to know where to place me. But I would say my resilience has helped me overcome these challenges. The music industry can be tough, but my determination has helped me stay true to my artistic vision and identity. Luckily, the more I put my music out there, listeners are loving the unique sound.

What I’ve learned along the way is the importance of continually evolving as an artist and staying open to new influences and ideas. Don’t feel like you have to be tied down to one genre or style and fit into a box. If you’re passionate about your music and being authentic, then others will feel it as well, and it will be easier to build a strong fan base and foster a sense of community around your music.

What I want the world to know about my brand is how I’m overcoming the stereotypes associated with being a multi-genre artist by bringing diverse audiences together, and how I’m using my unwavering passion for music for positive change. I hope my story is a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries and create meaningful connections.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely have to shoutout my producing team David Je, Davis Chris and Arejeigh. David Je has been there in the beginning of my solo career and at a time when I wasn’t sure or quite confident about being a solo artist. He’s the one that really pushed and believed in me. I can honestly say I would not be doing what I’m doing and be where I am today without him. Arejeigh has been featured as a rapper in a couple of my songs and produced my first single I ever released as a solo artist called “Alright.” It was a song that we wrote during the pandemic to keep us uplifted. And Davis Chris is the producer who has helped me discover my signature sound, a blend of country, R&B and HipHop. A sound I feel is authentically me being that I’m a black southern girl. So these three men are very important and like family to me. I couldn’t do it without their support, mentorship and encouragement.
