Meet Anna Wong | Small Art Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Wong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
As a business creative, I think my ability to carefully weigh the art needs and demands of those around me with my concurrent creative moods have allowed me to tackle successful creative ventures.
Careful planning of work and usage of my time has allowed me to combat burnout but still sell well!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My artwork is centered around college nostalgia and memories- a lot of my initial work was painted on circular canvases, leaning to my namesake of “circleasight.” I make a lot of unique college themed work including canvases, skateboards, shotskis, and more- all work that has never been done! My work has since transcended past my initial circular work where I now create memorial work of people, places, pets, and more!
It was a lot of work to get where I am today. Initially, I began hand painting every single work I produced- at an incredibly discounted price due to insecurities of my work. Realizing that there was more demand than I could produce in my spare time, I transitioned to print production and allowed my business to grow more strategically.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many places I’d take people in the area: Carolina Coffee Shop, Shrunken Head, H Mart in Cary, Raleigh Farmers Market, Morgan Street Food Hall, Cary Chinese Lights, a UNC basketball game, and so many more!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out StudentMadeUNC for kickstarting my art business and giving me the initial platform and visibility to be successful!
In addition, my friends have played crucial roles in validating the need for my art as well as the demand for them.
