We had the good fortune of connecting with Aly Amos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
So when I began Abundant Amos Financial Strategies, I wanted to do something that would help the community understand more about taxes outside of just reporting what was on their W-2 or receiving a child tax credit. Also, I wanted to help out my community by providing knowledge and services to enable them to build a family legacy and begin saving money!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Honeyyyyyy!!! I feel that I overcame my challenges by just staying dedicated, praying and keeping myself focused!! Starting a business is never easy as people make it seem but prayer changes things! The main lesson is you make time for what you want to make time for and if you want to see results you have to work hard and do the right thing with integrity! Moral of the story is don’t give up!! There is someone waiting on you to start your business to help change their lives! I want people to know that with me it goes beyond tax preparation, goes beyond bookkeeping, goes beyond setting up life insurance plans and investment accounts! It is about helping my community and my tribe to get their piece of the pie!! My community deserves to know how to maximize their wealth!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would tell them we have to go to all museums in Raleigh & Durham, Boxcar in Raleigh or Durham, check out some of the amazing local restaurants that aren’t tied to a chain, places like cousins mane lobster, Let’s Eat Soul Food in Durham, Favor Desserts, La Cucina in Clayton, go a the eat in movie theater, check out Jordan Lake, the Eno, Cosmic Cantina, it’s soooo many things I would want to show them around here! I also would take them to Wonderland on Glennwood Ave in Raleigh, the list just goes on and on!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout God first! Without God none of this would even be possible! All glory and thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! Secondly, my parents and my grandma Mildred! My granny, my mama and my daddy have always told me I could do anything I put my mind to, with God’s guidance, discipline, faith and determination anything is possible! I want to shoutout Imani Cohen for always reminding me that as long as I have breath I have options and I can create my own reality through positive thinking!! I also would like to shoutout SmartWiz and Primerica! My friends! My mentors! Shoutout to my tribe!!! I’m doing this for the ones that thought they would never win, trusting God’s plan, can’t play in the devils pen!!!
