Meet Alivia Moe | Brand Owner & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alivia Moe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alivia, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
In my own experience, it’s less of a knowing and more of a feeling. When it comes to my path as a creative giving up isn’t a reality I’ve ever considered. The feeling of giving up has always led me either to a new medium or a new outlook on what I am already doing. What I create comes from extensions of myself I need to explore to continue to grow as a person and in turn grow my career as a creative. I am a creative, that is my calling and my choice. And at the end of the day, I am a human surviving and continuing to take on this life through connection and creation. The feeling of giving up has only led me to what’s next.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a multidisciplinary creative. I own a brand, I’ve written a book, I teach pottery classes, I started a podcast, I am working on original music… There is never an easy answer to the question “What do you do?”. I am where I am because I have not limited myself to just one thing – this keeps me engaged, experimenting, and playful. I have spread a wide net of exploration with my creativity leading me to creative expressions and mediums that fulfill different parts of myself that want to be acknowledged, heard, and seen. My brand, Vesl Studios, is a reflection of my inner kid; playful, minimal, limitless. My writing is dark and raw. Making and teaching pottery gives me space to get messy and give back to my community. My podcast lets my curiosity run wild and my music, well It’s still in its creation but so far it is ethereal, soulful, angsty, and a little cliche. I’ve learned to just explore, I’m guided every day by what I feel and how to healthily release utilizing all of my creative pursuits.
