Meet Alexa Rose Carlin | Speaker, Bestselling Author, Creator, and Founder of Women Empower X

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexa Rose Carlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexa Rose, what is the most important factor behind your success?
This question is so important and I’m so glad you asked! The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my story and the ability to share it with the world. Your story is what sets you apart and so many people are hiding behind it. There are millions of people online and it is your story, your authenticity, that is your point of differentiation to stand out and rise above the noise. The moment I truly started to share my story in my content as well as through speaking engagements, was the moment my brand really took off. I went from a few hundred followers to thousands and today, I empower and encourage others to do the same. Whether you want to share your story through speaking, social media, or writing, as long as you find the courage to share it vulnerably, I promise you it will make a huge difference in the success of your brand.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I’m 17 years old, always with the mission to make a difference in at least one persons life a day. My first business was designing jewelry for an L.A. based fashion company under my own label where I donated a percentage of proceeds to help build schools in Africa. From there I started growing my personal brand on social media through my first fashion blog. While growing the blog in college I encountered the biggest challenge of my life.
At 21 years old I had a near-death experience where my body went into septic shock and I was induced into a medical coma given a one-percent chance to live. This experience changed my life and the trajectory of my career. After years of health challenges I decided to turn this obstacle into an opportunity and I began sharing my story through public speaking and online via social media.
When I got rejected from 60 events to speak and share my story, I decided to create my own stage. I began speaking at my own small events and then through this noticed a big disconnect among women in my community. That’s when I found the need for diverse women of different ages, backgrounds and industries to connect. That launched my next venture, Women Empower X and in 2016 we hosted our first event at the Fort Lauderdale convention center where over 2,000 people showed up.
Since then we’ve hosted 10 events attracting over 20,000 people in attendance, I became a published author of my book “Adaptable: How to Lead with Curiosity, Pivot with Purpose, and Thrive through Change”, and am a content creator partnering with fortune 500 companies and brands. I also coach other entrepreneurs through my course ‘Speak to Elevate’ where I help them grow their business and brand by sharing their story on multiple platforms.
I believe your story is your most powerful vehicle to rise above the noise and make a difference, in your own life and in the lives of others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My online community! I wouldn’t be where I am today in my career if it wasn’t for my followers support of my work. I’ve had people who have been following me since the early days when I started in 2014 and it means everything for them to still support me and fuel my success!
