Meet Akillah Graves | Content creator and Future Medical Student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Akillah Graves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Akillah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My decision to start my own business was driven by a combination of passion, opportunity, and a desire for independence. I had been working in the corporate world for a while and noticed that. It was fulfilling for me. I felt that there was room for growth that could offer something different—something more fulfilling and fun. On a personal level, I wanted to have more control over my work and the ability to create something that reflected my values and vision. The idea of building something from the ground up was both exciting and daunting, but ultimately it felt like the right time to take that leap and pursue it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My content is a reflection of both personal experiences and the world around me—often a blend of motherhood, food mukbangs, and lifestyle concepts. What sets me apart is my ability to merge different niches and techniques to create something unique to me. I’ve always been drawn to pushing boundaries with my content. I think the excitement comes from the constant evolution of my style, never settling for what’s comfortable or familiar.
What I’m most proud of is the growth I’ve seen over the years. I’ve worked on some content that I genuinely believe have impacted people in ways I didn’t expect. Whether it’s been on there for you pages or someone shared it with them. I love knowing my work has connected with others.
Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. Like most creatives, I had my fair share of self-doubt, Is still do. There were plenty of obstacles—rejections, financial uncertainty, even moments where I questioned if it was worth it. But the key was persistence and resilience. I learned that setbacks were just a part of the journey. Over time, I focused less on the challenges and more on the progress, no matter how small. Surrounding myself with other creatives who understood the struggle also helped me stay grounded.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is the importance of patience and trusting the process. Content isn’t just about the end result; it’s about the journey you take with each video. I’ve also learned that authenticity is key. The more true I am to myself and my voice, the more my content resonates with others.
Ultimately, what I want the world to know about me and my content is that it’s not just about creating visually appealing videos. It’s about telling stories, evoking emotions, and capturing memories. My content is a way to make people think, feel, and reflect. It’s a conversation starter, and I want to continue being part of that dialogue.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, this journey has been a personal one, and while I’ve certainly learned from various people along the way, I wouldn’t say there’s one specific person or resource I would dedicate my shoutout to. It’s been a process of trial and error, figuring things out on my own. However, I do appreciate all the small moments of encouragement and feedback I’ve gotten from those around me, even if it’s just been in passing. Every little bit of insight has contributed to where I am today.
