Why they do what they do

We asked some of the city’s leading artists and creatives to tell us about how they decided to pursue an artistic or creative career. We’ve shared some highlights below.

I had worked in the banking sector for almost 30 years and was no longer fulfilled or happy. My son died n 2016 at the age of 29 and it made me realize how fragile life is and how important it is to be happy with what you do. Communing with nature became my happy place, especially the beaches in NC. He is the inspiration that started out as a way to achieve peace and serenity and turned into what I wanted to do with my time and how I wanted to reach out to others. Read more>>
